Is it watching my classroom?
No. Nothing activates until a Flare is raised. No cameras on, no microphones open, no tracking on a normal day, and every post-Flare access is logged to the audit trail your district owns.
What if I press it by accident?

Beyond their range, it pairs with the app on your smartphone, so with the app along, the button around your neck fires wherever you are, and outdoors your location comes from the live map instead of a room number. The button itself is registered to no room and no person, so the Flare always comes from where the emergency is, never from where a button was installed. Choosing the app also gives you a private crisis plan of your own, so you are safer off campus too, wherever you are.
